Can masters lock logbook entries?
Yes. Deck and engine logbook lock permissions control day locking. The deck book adds master approval and A.916 coverage checks when the module is enabled.
Is MGN 690 an optional extra?
No. When the deck logbook module is enabled, no-delete, amendment history, master lock, and PDF/XML export apply automatically. A flag Declaration for onboard use, and any UK type-approval assessment of the software, remain separate steps — WaterTight does not issue them.
Does this page cover Oil or Garbage Record Books?
No. Deck and engine logbooks are the navigational and machinery records. MARPOL, ballast water, biofouling, and ISPS electronic books are on Statutory record books. The engine logbook is not in deck-logbook Phase 1 scope.
Can shore review logbooks remotely?
Yes. A fleet-wide logbook view lets superintendents review entries without waiting for scanned pages.
